What to expect from the neck lift procedure
Our Manhattan neck lift procedure is carried out with the use of general anesthesia, skillfully administered by one of Dr. Kwak's friendly and compassionate board-certified anesthesiologists. These surgeries are typically performed either at accredited surgery centers in Manhattan or at an ESK-affiliated hospital in New York City.
While there are various techniques available for tightening and recontouring the neck, such as submentoplasty, cervical lipectomy, and plastysmaplasty, Dr. Kwak primarily utilizes liposuction to achieve the most optimal results. In this approach, excess fat deposits and sagging tissue are removed through a small steel tube, known as a cannula, which accesses the skin's fat layers through a tiny incision. The cannula can be operated manually or can be "power-assisted," allowing for greater precision through automation. This method minimizes the risk of damage or injury to visible, superficial skin layers by targeting the deepest layers of subcutaneous fat. After the fat is suctioned out, the outer skin is then carefully repositioned, resulting in a more refined and attractive profile.
