FOCUS ON: EYELID SURGERY
Eyelid surgery, technically known as blepharoplasty is essentially employed to effectively improve the appearance of the upper and/or lower eyelids. It is one of the most common cosmetic surgery procedures performed in the United States. Perhaps its because the appearance of your eyes indicates a lot and helps you emote. Droopier eyelids can make you look older than you are and can even go so far as to impair vision in some cases.
Undergoing this surgery gives a youthful and rejuvenated appearance to the whole surrounding area of your eyes, so you look more fresh, rested and alert.
ARE YOU SUITABLE?
Its typically applied on adults in good health and with healthy facial muscles and tissue. You must have realistic goals and expectations of the surgery. Only undergo the surgery if YOU wish to make a change, not for anyone/anything else – it is the only way to ensure you will be happy, content and comfortable with the results and the consequences, even the positive ones.
Please do openly communicate with your surgeon and its important to let him/her know any eye diseases, thyroid disorders or cardiovascular diseases you may have or currently have.

THE SURGERY
After a in-depth conversation regarding your concerns and goals post-surgery, Dr. Kwak will thoroughly examine your facial structure and then proceed to perform a comprehesive analysis of your face and eyes. He may possibly recommend additional procedures such as a face lift, wrinkle treatment, etc. depending from person to person.
It is performed under local anesthesia or with general anesthesia. Upper eyelid surgery can effectively get rid of excessive fatty deposits that may be showing as puffiness. Sagging or doopy skin that can cause vision impairments, as mentioned above, can also be treated well. It can remove excess skin and fine wrinkles from the lower eyelid area.
RECOVERY
The recovery process usually takes about 7-10 days in general and patients can assume full exercise tolerance after about a month!
