Two Celebrities, Two Noses, Two Nose Jobs
When your face is your meal ticket, your nose can be a help or a hindrance. Rhinoplasty is a common facial plastic surgery procedure in Hollywood.
The lists of stars that have undergone nose jobs are as varied as the online entertainment outlets that publish such lists. There aren’t many stars who advertise their cosmetic surgeries, leaving entertainment magazines and bloggers to guess (sometimes correctly, sometimes not) whether the rumors that a certain star had a nose job or a face lift or Botox treatments are true – or not. However, there are two actresses, Jennifer Gray and Cameron Diaz, who have been very public about their rhinoplasty surgeries.
Jennifer and Cameron had celebrity nose jobs for two different reasons. Jennifer, who rose to fame after earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress for her portrayal of “Baby” in the 1987 hit movie Dirty Dancing with Patrick Swayze, had her (she felt) embarrassingly large nose resized and reshaped a few years after becoming a star. If you watched Dancing with the Stars last year, you may not have recognized her with her cute new nose, but Jennifer still had the dancing chops to win the competition.
Rhinoplasty is among the most popular facial plastic surgery procedures for both men and women.
The primary reason people give for getting a nose job is to improve their appearance. People are generally more sensitive about their noses than other facial or body features that are more easily camouflaged. There’s no hiding your nose. It’s right there, front and center in the middle of your face. It’s hard to miss; and if you don’t like your nose, you are reminded of its deficiencies every time you glance in a mirror.
